Turn On Notifications
Get a heads-up on your Workstation tablet when you're assigned a new job, your shop sends you a message, or it's time to wrap up your day.
Why it matters
Notifications keep you in the loop without having to open the app and check. When something needs your attention — a new job lands on your plate, your supervisor sends the floor a message, or your shift wraps and there's time to account for — your tablet lets you know.
Notifications are off until you turn them on, and you can turn them back off any time. You don't need them to do your job; the kiosk and Workstation work the same either way.
What you'll be notified about
Once you turn notifications on, you'll get a heads-up for:
- A new job — when a job is assigned to you.
- A message from your shop — when a supervisor or admin sends a broadcast to you or your department.
- End of your day — after you clock out, a reminder to wrap up and account for your day.
How to turn them on
- Open Workstation on your tablet and go to Settings (in the navigation on the left, or the bottom on a phone).
- Find the Notifications card.
- Tap Enable Notifications.
- Your tablet or browser asks for permission to send notifications — tap Allow.
That's it. The card shows your current status once it's on.
If you don't see a Notifications card, either your shop hasn't turned worker notifications on yet (ask your admin) or your tablet's browser doesn't support push notifications. Everything else in Workstation still works — you just won't get the heads-up alerts.
Turning them off
- In Workstation: open Settings → Notifications and turn them off there.
- On the tablet: you can also turn off notifications for the FabWise Workstation app in the tablet's own settings, the same way you would for any app.
Common questions
Do I have to turn notifications on?
No. They're off until you choose to turn them on, and you can leave them off. Nothing about clocking in, tracking tasks, or your hours depends on them.
A notification arrived but I don't see anything in the app
Open Workstation and check the relevant section — Jobs for a new job, the Dashboard for a message. Pull down to refresh if needed.
I turned them on but I'm not getting any
Make sure you tapped Allow when your tablet asked for permission. If you tapped "Block" or "Don't Allow," you'll need to re-enable notifications for FabWise Workstation in your tablet's own settings, then turn them on again in the Notifications card.
Will I get notifications on my own phone?
Notifications go to the tablet (or device) where you turned them on. If you set up Workstation on more than one device and turn notifications on for each, each one gets them.
Where to find it
