Company Settings

Your shop's name, address, contact info, timezone, logo, and brand color all live in one place. This is the canonical reference for what's set here and what it affects across FabWise.

Why it matters

Company Settings is one form, but the values touch every other surface in FabWise:

  • Logo and brand color appear on the customer portal, the public shop listing, the customer acceptance page, and the Workstation dashboard
  • Timezone drives every date/time displayed in the app — getting it wrong means every report is off by a few hours
  • Shop name and address appear on quotes, invoices, and the customer portal
  • Email and phone are how customers reach you from the public portal

Get this right once and you don't think about it again. Get it wrong and you'll see the consequences in every customer-facing artifact.

Where to find it

Admin → Settings → Company

You'll see the form with sections:

  • Company Information
  • Quote Settings
  • Branding

Save commits the whole form at once.

Company Information

Nine fields:

  • Name — your business name. Appears on quotes, invoices, the public portal, and the customer acceptance page.
  • Address — street address line 1
  • Address line 2 — suite, unit, or floor (optional)
  • City
  • State
  • ZIP code
  • Email address — the primary contact email for your shop. Goes on quotes and invoices. Customers who fill out the portal quote form see this as your "from" address on the confirmation email.
  • Phone — your shop's main phone number. Goes on quotes, invoices, and the portal listing.
  • Timezone — this is the important one. See the next section.

Timezone (the one that matters)

Every time and date in FabWise is stored in UTC and displayed in your account's timezone. When you change this, every existing date display shifts.

Pick the timezone where your shop physically operates. Most US shops will pick one of:

  • America/New_York (Eastern)
  • America/Chicago (Central)
  • America/Denver (Mountain)
  • America/Phoenix (Mountain, no DST)
  • America/Los_Angeles (Pacific)

Changing the timezone is consequential. Existing shifts, schedules, exports, and reports all re-render in the new timezone. The underlying data is unchanged (stored in UTC); the display shifts. FabWise asks you to confirm the change before saving.

The right time to set this is during initial setup. If you didn't, set it now — but be aware that historical reports will look different afterward.

Quote Settings

One field:

  • Default quote terms — the standard terms text that gets dropped into every new quote. Includes things like payment terms ("Net 30 from invoice"), warranty language, scope clauses, anything you want every quote to say by default.

Quote-specific terms can be overridden per job. This is just the default starting point.

For the full quote flow, see Quotes and Invoices.

Branding

Two fields, both customer-facing:

  • What it is: an image file uploaded directly (PNG or JPEG)
  • Where it appears:
    • Top of your public customer portal at fabwise.app/shop/your-slug
    • The Workstation dashboard (each worker sees your logo at the top of their app)
    • The customer acceptance page when they sign a quote
    • Outgoing emails to customers
  • Best practices:
    • Use a square or near-square logo (1:1 ratio works well across all placements; tall narrow logos crop awkwardly)
    • PNG with a transparent background looks best on the dark Workstation backdrop
    • 512×512 pixels minimum is plenty; bigger is fine
    • Don't include your shop name in the logo image itself — the surfaces that show the logo already show the name as separate text

Brand color

  • What it is: a hex color (the color picker resolves to hex)
  • Where it appears:
    • Accent color on the customer portal header
    • The "Request a Quote" button on the portal
    • Action buttons on the customer acceptance page
  • Best practices:
    • Pick a color from your existing branding if you have one
    • Avoid pure red (collides with FabWise's destructive-action red) and pure green (collides with success states)
    • If you don't have a brand color, pick a deep professional blue or a confident industrial color (forest green, charcoal, deep red). Whatever color a metalwork business would put on a sign.

Where logo and brand color do NOT appear

  • The admin panel (admin.fabwise.app) — the admin UI is FabWise-branded, not customer-branded
  • The kiosk (kiosk.fabwise.app) — the kiosk uses a consistent FabWise look so workers across multiple shops have a familiar experience

Common questions

I changed the timezone and historical shifts look wrong now

They aren't wrong; they're showing in the new timezone. A shift that was at 8 AM Central displays as 9 AM Eastern after the change. Your records are correct; the display moved. If you really want them to look like they did before, change the timezone back.

Can I have different timezones for different departments?

No. FabWise is one-account, one-timezone. If you operate in multiple timezones, that's a separate-account-per-location pattern.

My logo looks pixelated on the customer portal

Upload a higher-resolution version. 512×512 is the minimum that looks crisp; 1024×1024 is safer. Re-upload from Company Settings and save.

I want to change my shop name after we've sent quotes

You can. Existing quotes and invoices keep the old name (they're snapshotted at issue time). New quotes use the new name.

Where do I change my account email address (for signing in)?

That's your user-level email, not the company email here. Edit your user profile (top-right avatar in admin) to change your sign-in email.

Does FabWise email customers from my email address?

No — outbound emails come from a FabWise address (so they pass authentication and don't go to spam). Your shop's email address appears in the email body and the reply-to header, so when customers reply they go to you.

Can I set up custom email domain (e.g., [email protected])?

Not today. Outbound is always from the FabWise domain. On the roadmap for the future.
