Dashboard

At a glance: what needs your attention today, who's on the floor, and what's coming this week.

Why it matters

The dashboard is the first screen after sign-in, and its job is to tell you where to go next. Instead of checking Timecards, Users, and Jobs separately to find out whether anything needs you, the things that need a decision surface here with a count and a link straight to them.

How it works

The dashboard reads live data every time you load the page. There's no refresh button and no cached copy — each open gives you the current picture.

Cards appear only when they have something to say. A morning briefing, a sign-off reminder, or a pending time-off approval shows up when one exists and stays hidden otherwise, so an empty dashboard means there's genuinely nothing waiting.

What you see also depends on your role. The job pipelines are visible only to people who can view jobs, and the sign-off reminder only to people who can review timecards.

Where to find it

  • Page: Dashboard
  • Path: admin.fabwise.app (the home page after sign-in)
  • Who can see it: anyone who can reach the admin console — account owners, admins, managers, and supervisors

What you'll see

Cards that appear when something needs you

These are hidden when there's nothing to show:

  • Morning briefing — a short summary of the day ahead, when your account has it turned on
  • Sign-off reminder — appears when a timecard week is ready for your sign-off
  • Pending time-off approvals — requests waiting on a decision, with approve and deny in the row

Shifts Need Review

A count of shifts with something unresolved — a missing clock-out, a skipped meal break, a time the worker flagged as wrong. See all opens Timecards, where you work through them and sign off the week.

Active Work

Who is on the clock right now and what they're working on. See all opens the full list of clocked-in workers.

Task Coverage

How much of recent paid time is attributed to a job, as a percentage with a trend. A low number means time is being logged without a job attached — worth understanding before you invoice.

Coverage counts only shifts whose review is complete. A shift still waiting on your review contributes nothing to either side of the calculation, so the percentage stays honest rather than moving on times nobody has confirmed.

Next 7 Days

Who is scheduled over the coming week, so you can see gaps before they happen. This is the forward-looking counterpart to Active Work — that card is now, this card is next.

Sales Pipeline and Production Pipeline

Two job boards, visible to people who can view jobs. Sales covers inquiry and quote; Production covers the stages after that. Each column shows its jobs as cards, and each board shows its total value.

Who's off today

Approved time off for today, with a link to the rest of the week.

What to do

  • Start with Shifts Need Review. It's the only card that blocks something downstream — hours can't be signed off until the flagged shifts are resolved.
  • Check Active Work against what you expect. If someone should be on the floor and isn't listed, they may not have clocked in.
  • Watch Task Coverage over time rather than day to day. One low day is noise; a falling trend means job attribution is slipping.
  • Use Next 7 Days to catch coverage gaps early, while there's still time to adjust the schedule.

Common questions

Q: Why is a card missing?
A: Most cards hide themselves when they have nothing to report — no pending approvals means no approvals card. The job pipelines are different: they're hidden if your role can't view jobs.

Q: What counts as "active" in Active Work?
A: Any employee whose shift is in progress. Someone on a personal-time break is still counted — their shift hasn't ended.

Q: Why doesn't Task Coverage match what I see in Timecards?
A: Coverage counts only review-complete shifts. Anything still waiting on your review is excluded until you resolve it, at which point it joins the calculation.

Q: Where are labor costs and job value?
A: Not on the dashboard. Financial reporting lives in the Reports section.

Q: How often does it update?
A: On each page load. There's no live streaming — reload the browser for the latest.
