Signing in with a password
Enter your email address and password on the sign-in page and choose Sign in. If you've never set a password — because you've always used a sign-in link or a passkey — choose Forgot your password? and we'll email you a link to set one.
Your password needs to be at least 8 characters. That's the only rule: no required symbols or numbers, and it never expires. A longer phrase you can actually remember is better than a short one full of punctuation.
Setting a password signs you out everywhere else, so you'll sign in again on your other devices.
Signing in with a link
On the sign-in page, enter your email address and choose Email me a sign-in link. We send a link to that address; open it and you're signed in. The link works once and expires shortly, so request a fresh one any time you need to sign back in.
For your security, the page looks the same whether or not an account exists for that address, and the link only ever goes to an email that's on file.
Signing in with a passkey
A passkey lets you sign in with the same Face ID, Touch ID, or device PIN you already use to unlock your device — no email round-trip. After you've signed in, you can set one up from your account, and from then on just choose Sign in with Passkey.
Choosing which methods your shop uses
Under Settings → Features → Sign-in methods, an admin can switch each method on or off for the whole account. At least one has to stay on.
Password is on by default because it works on any computer, including older machines with no fingerprint reader or Face ID. Once everyone on your team has a passkey set up, switching password off is a straightforward way to tighten things up.
Your email
The person who owns the account (the admin) always has an email on file — it's how you receive your sign-in link, and how we reach you about billing and your account. Shop-floor workers who only clock in at a kiosk don't need an email; an admin always does.
Each email address belongs to one FabWise account. If you run a second shop, or work for two companies that both use FabWise, use a different email address for the second account.
The mobile app
The FabWise Supervisor mobile app leads with a passkey (Face ID / Touch ID / device PIN), which is the fastest way in on a phone. Your email and password work there too, and turning password sign-in off for your account turns it off on the phone as well. There is no username; sign-in is always by email.
Adding more people
When you add users in Users, they sign in the same ways you do — by email, with whichever methods your account has switched on (or by PIN, for workers who only use the shared kiosk). There's no username to set up.
