FabWise | Install the Workstation App on iPhone or iPad

How to add the FabWise Workstation app to your iPhone or iPad home screen so it opens like a normal app. Already enrolled and just need the icon back? You're in the right place.

Why it matters

Workstation runs in your browser, but you don't have to type a web address every time. Installing it puts a FabWise Workstation icon on your home screen that opens full-screen, with no browser bar — exactly like an app from the App Store, just without the download.

This page covers only the install step. If you haven't enrolled your device yet, start with Set Up a Workstation Tablet (iPhone or iPad) — enrollment comes first, and it includes this step.

Takes about a minute.

What you need

An iPhone or iPad running iOS 16 or newer (iPadOS 16 or newer)
Safari (the install option lives in Safari's Share menu)
You've already enrolled this device (or you're following the setup guide, which sends you here)

Install it

Open Safari.
Go to https://workstation.fabwise.app in the address bar.
Tap the Share button — the square with an arrow pointing up, at the bottom of the screen (or top on iPad).
Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
Tap Add in the top-right corner. A FabWise Workstation icon appears on your home screen.

That's it. From now on, tap that icon to open Workstation full-screen.

Open it to check

Go to your home screen and tap the FabWise Workstation icon.
It should open full-screen with no Safari address bar across the top.
Tap Sign in with passkey and confirm with Face ID or Touch ID.

If it opens inside Safari with the address bar showing, the install didn't take — repeat the steps and make sure you used Add to Home Screen.

Troubleshooting

This option is only in Safari — it won't appear in Chrome or other browsers on iPhone/iPad. Open the page in Safari and try again. If it's still missing, scroll down in the Share sheet; it sits below the row of share targets.

The icon disappeared from my home screen

Someone removed it, or the home screen was reset. Nothing is lost — just repeat the steps above. Your enrollment and passkey in iCloud Keychain are unaffected.

It opens in Safari instead of full-screen

You may have tapped a bookmark or a regular Safari tab. Open from the home-screen icon you added, not from within Safari.
