How to export your data
Get a copy of the personal information FabWise has about you. Requests go through
[email protected]— there's no self-service download.
Why it matters
You own your data. If you want a copy of what FabWise has stored about your business, your team, or yourself — for backup, transition planning, or your own records — you can request it at any time. California residents have an explicit Right to Know under CCPA/CPRA; FabWise honors the same right for everyone, regardless of where you live (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and similar state laws are covered too).
What's covered
The export includes the personal information FabWise stores about you. What that means depends on your role:
- Account admins / customers: the data tied to your business account — company info, billing details (without payment-card numbers), users, shifts, jobs, customers, tasks, comments, documents, and audit logs.
- Employees on a customer's account: your personal information — name, email, phone, optional emergency contact, the employment details your account admin entered, your shift and task history, and the audit log of your activity.
Payment-card numbers are never exported because FabWise never stores them — Stripe holds those, tokenized.
How to request an export
FabWise doesn't have a self-service "download all my data" button. Personal-data requests are handled through our privacy channel so we can verify identity and scope the request correctly.
If you're an account admin or customer
Email [email protected] with the subject "Privacy Request — Export My Data." Include the account/company name and the email you use with FabWise. We may ask a couple of questions to verify your identity, then prepare your copy.
If you're an employee on a customer's account
You have two paths:
- Ask your employer (account admin). Because FabWise is a data processor acting for your employer, the fastest path is usually to ask your account admin, who manages the account's data directly.
- Contact FabWise directly. Email [email protected] with your name, the email you use with FabWise, and the company you work for. We'll verify your identity and coordinate the request.
We respond within 45 calendar days, with a one-time 45-day extension where reasonably necessary, per CCPA timelines. There is no fee.
A note on routine exports
This article is about personal-data (privacy) requests. If you're an admin who just needs operational data — hours, shifts, or other records for payroll — use the in-app Reports and export tools in the admin panel. That's a normal export of your account's operational data, not a privacy request, and doesn't go through privacy@.
Common questions
Q: How long does it take?
A: We respond within 45 calendar days of a verified request, often sooner.
Q: What format will I get?
A: A readable copy of your data (commonly CSV). If you need a specific format, say so in your request and we'll do our best to accommodate.
Q: Are deleted records included?
A: Soft-deleted records still within their retention window are included. Records past retention have been permanently removed and no longer exist.
Q: Can my employer see that I made a request?
A: If you go through your employer (Path 1), yes — they're the one pulling the data. If you contact [email protected] directly (Path 2), the request is between you and FabWise; your employer isn't notified unless the law requires it (rare).
Q: Is there a fee?
A: No. Privacy requests are free.
