Support Access

A single switch that lets a FabWise team member make a settings change for you instead of talking you through it. It's off until you turn it on, one click turns it back off, and everything we touch is stamped with our name.

Why it matters

Something in your settings needs changing and you're not sure where it lives. The slow version is a phone call where we talk you through it click by click. The fast version is you asking us to just do it.

Support Access is what makes the fast version possible. Turn it on and a FabWise team member can sign in to your account and make the change — departments, schedules, shift types, tablets, your team. Turn it off and that's over.

It's deliberately narrow. We can configure your account; we can't run it. Your workers' recorded time, your timecards, your payroll exports, and your billing are out of reach the entire time, on or off. And every change we make is stamped with our name in your history, so there's never a question about who did what.

How it works

When you turn Support Access on, a FabWise team member can sign in to your account to configure it. They can only touch your account's setup — not the day-to-day work your shop runs on.

What a FabWise team member can do with Support Access on:

  • Set up and change your account settings and time policies
  • Create departments, schedules, and shift types
  • Set up and connect your kiosk and workstation tablets
  • Add and edit your workers

What they can never do — even with Support Access on:

  • View, edit, or approve any time records or timecards
  • Change or run payroll and hours exports
  • Touch your billing, subscription, or payment details
  • Sign off shifts, correct times, or acknowledge review items
  • Add or change an account owner or admin

Your workers' actual clocked time is sealed. Support Access is for configuration only — it cannot reach, change, or create a single minute of recorded work.

Your customers and jobs are out of reach too. Support Access is for a settings change, not for loading your shop's data.

Where to find it

  • Page: Settings
  • Path: Settings > Support Access
  • Who can see it: Account owners and admins

What you'll see

A switch labeled Support Access, showing whether it's currently on or off. When it's on, you'll see it clearly marked as active so it's never a surprise.

While a FabWise team member is working in your account, that's recorded in your account history like any other change — but attributed to them by name, with a Support badge, not to you or your team.

What to do

  • To have us make a change: turn Support Access on, then tell your FabWise contact what you need done.
  • To check what was done: open your account history and look for entries with the Support badge. Each one shows the FabWise team member's name and the exact change they made.
  • To end access: turn Support Access off. This takes effect immediately — any FabWise team member working in your account is signed out on their next action, and they can't get back in until you turn it on again.

Turn it off once the change is made. You can always turn it back on next time you need something.

Common questions

Q: Can a FabWise team member see or change my workers' hours?
A: No. Support Access covers account setup only. Time records, timecards, and hours exports are completely out of reach — even while access is on.

Q: Will I know what FabWise changed?
A: Yes. Every change is recorded in your account history under the team member's name with a Support badge, so you have a full, plain record of who did what.

Q: What happens when I turn it off?
A: Access ends right away. Anyone working in your account with Support Access is signed out on their next action and can't return until you turn it back on.

Q: Is Support Access on by default?
A: No. It's off until you turn it on, and it stays off unless you choose otherwise.
